SYDNEY, Australia, (PRWEB) June 21, 2010 –

HDcctv Alliance®, the global security industry consortium established to manage and promote technical standards for HDcctv equipment interoperability, announced today that Belden, the world’s largest manufacturer of professional video cable, has joined the Alliance to enhance their position in the evolution of video surveillance camera connection technology.

“Belden continues to be at the forefront of video technology,” said Josh Dixon, Belden vertical market manager, safety and security. “We joined the HDcctv Alliance because we recognize both the value of HDcctv in the video surveillance market and the importance of having interoperability standards. Delivering high-resolution video images, this new camera connection technology allows for higher performing systems, with a lower installation learning curve and a much lower cost of entry.”

HDcctv surveillance cameras deliver digital high-definition video over coaxial cable. The HDcctv Alliance standards enable interoperable plug-and-play high definition (HD) security systems with the highest possible signal integrity, without any perceivable latency or image artifacts from transmission-related compression.

“In this post-9/11 world, video surveillance has expanded in every area,” noted Steve Lampen, Belden multimedia technology manager. “From traffic light video and airport surveillance to casino face recognition and gaming table detail, we believe HDcctv offers dramatic improvements in video performance to a host of existing and emerging applications.”

According to Lampen, all Belden CCTV coaxial cables are recommended for use in HDcctv installations. “Some of our professional cables are without equal in the industry and offer unparalleled performance in HDcctv applications,” continued Lampen. “Our engineering and marketing teams are ready to apply themselves to any new product development opportunities that HDcctv offers.”

“Belden is the leader in supplying the worldwide demand for CCTV cabling, and we are delighted they have chosen to participate in crafting the HDcctv standard,” said Todd Rockoff, HDcctv Alliance executive director. “With plans to provide for direct transmission over media such as Category cable and optical fiber in future versions of the HDcctv standard, the Alliance looks forward to significant contributions from Belden.”

The HDcctv Alliance has partnered with SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers) to leverage the HD-SDI (High-Definition Serial Digital Interface) broadcast television standard as the basis for the HDcctv Specification. HDcctv includes a variety of enhancements to HD-SDI that are vital to surveillance, including bi-directional audio and data, up-the-cable power, and Long Reach Mode for 300m transmission over conventional RG-59 cable.

The Alliance is rapidly growing, drawing its international membership from diverse sectors of the security industry, from component, OEM and branded equipment manufacturers, to security sales, support and system installers. Alliance members benefit from access to the specification, participation in the standard creation process, and certification of compliant products. Marketing benefits include HDcctv logo product branding to signify interoperability and promotions to increase members’ international visibility. Satellite TV for PC Product Erases Consumers Need to Pay High Cable Bills – Watch Live TV on PC From Anywhere

Dufur, OR (PRWEB) July 15, 2010

For people who are tired of paying outrageous cable bills, a new technological advancement in TV on PC is changing the game! Did you know that the average consumer may spend anywhere from $ 600 to $ 1200 a year or more on their cable TV service? It’s crazy! That’s why more and more people every day are switching to alternative solutions like satellite TV for PC for their entertainment needs.

In order for consumers to decide if Http://satellite TV for PC is right for their entertainment needs, let’s do a quick comparison:

Unlike cable, satellite TV for pc does not involve purchasing or leasing additional hardware such as a satellite dish or a cable box from the cable company.
Consumers also do not need to pay a technician for setup and installation of wiring, unlike cable, which could easily set you back $ 99 or more.
With cable TV consumers have a limited selection of channels depending on your region and channel package; however with satellite TV for pc users have access to thousands of high quality HD channels from around the world with no restrictions.
Satellite TV for PC doesn’t require a monthly fee, or require users to be locked into a lengthy service contract that is difficult, not to mention expensive to get out of if people decide to cancel early.

The only drawback to satellite TV for pc is that users do need an active internet connection. However, for the vast majority of consumers this is not an issue.

One thing consumers need to be careful of though is which provider they use. There are many scam satellite tv for pc providers popping up who are just re-packaging free TV channels. A recent consumer news report at Http://http://www.Television4pc.com helps consumers know which providers are reliable.

Latens and GoBackTV Enabling Advanced IPTV Services for Cable Operators – Joint Solution Provides Competitive Edge to Small/Mid-Size Operators

Menlo Park, CA (PRWEB) November 3, 2010

Latens (http://www.latens.com), the leading provider of software security solutions for Pay-TV across all networks, and GoBackTV (http://www.gobacktv.com), the innovative supplier of digital video headend and edge solutions, today announced details of their partnership for a joint solution for the delivery of IPTV over Cable for small- to medium-sized cable operators in North America.

Together, the combination offers cable operators a cost effective IPTV delivery solution across cable infrastructure. The integrated solution provides cable operators an opportunity to expand their service portfolio and generate more revenue through advanced television services, while also providing an opportunity to reduce costs in the overall TV service for operators delivering over both Cable and Telco infrastructure.

Increased competition from satellite and telco providers is forcing cable operators to introduce new IPTV services so they can retain and gain new customers. Cable customers are demanding more services such as high quality digital broadcast content (SD and HD), television time-shifting, and video on demand, which the cable operator can now provide via IPTV over their existing cable infrastructure.

“This partnership demonstrates how a well-integrated, affordable solution meets the needs of cable operators, especially for smaller to medium-size operators,” comments Rei Brockett, VP of Product Management and Marketing at GoBackTV. “They serve a smaller subscriber base, but face the same level of competition and need the same arsenal of features as the larger operators.”

Latens unique software CAS solution will protect content across all networks – Cable, IP, DTH, DTT – be it one way, two way or hybrid. This allows the operator to run the same CAS across any type of network from one single headend thereby minimizing operating costs. GoBackTV’s RetroVue® system complements Latens’ CAS solution by providing unified interactive television services over the same variety of networks.

Winegard Introduces TRIAD, a New HDTV Triple-Stacking Technology Combining All HD Satellite Signals on One Existing Coax Cable

Burlington, Iowa (PRWEB) January 3, 2006 -–

Winegard Company introduced its new TRIAD Triple-Stacking Technology at the EHX trade show on November 9, 2005. Bob Howell, Director Signal Distribution/Off-Air Antenna Business Group, said “Before TRIAD, no matter how integrators installed satellite TV in an MDU or home, a minimum of 2 cables had to be pulled in order to provide satellite HDTV signals to Decoder equipped HDTVs or Set Top Boxes. Our new TRIAD Technology allows Winegard to retrofit existing MDUs and homes to receive all the HD channels, Triple Stacking the Satellite HDTV signals on one cable, offering a second more cost effective and much better option. Approximately 1% of MDUs have more then one cable run through out the building, the rest have one. TRIAD addresses this need.”

There are HD channels located on 3 satellites. With existing technology and dual LNB’s, the consumer gets all the satellite channels subscribed to and some HD channels, but can’t see the third HD satellite. But with 3 LNBs and Winegard’s new TRIAD, the consumer gets all the satellite channels, plus all the HD channels from all three satellites. This takes LNB Technology to the next level by allowing the satellite dish to, not only look at 3 satellites, the third being the one dedicated to delivering additional HD channels, but, by stacking the signals and combining them, deliver all HD signals on one existing cable.

Winegard’s TRIAD will be included in the MultiletTM Structured Wiring box. Winegard also intends to market the TRIAD as a stand-alone product for existing and new satellite installations incorporated into structured wiring boxes of properties not interested in delivering the Triple Play at this time.

On November 8, 2005, Winegard announced that it had concluded an exclusive agreement with Macab AB for its patented data/video combining filter technology, Multilet. This agreement provided Winegard with the technology necessary to support its present customer base and many new markets with a new “Triple Play” platform for the distribution of Video, VoIP and Internet services to multi-dwelling unit (MDU) installers and home integrators across the nation.

Howell continued “Winegard now has the ability to offer installers, the enormous advantage of networking or retro-fitting entire MDU projects, including Triple-stacked HDTV on new a single cable run or an existing RG-6 coaxial run, eliminating the necessity to pull additional coax or CAT-5 wire-runs. To homeowners, Winegard can now offer a product to easily deliver the Triple Play and network their home. The savings in time and money to these installers, builders and homeowners will immediately be self evident and undeniable. No one else will have a product to match it.”

While other new single wire solution for multi-unit buildings exist using coax, they don’t allow the down-sending of an off-air signal to receive local free HDTV broadcasts. To do this, they’ll have to pull another cable, nor do they allow the down-sending of Internet signals, without pulling another cable. Try to imagine the savings in not having to pull an additional cable run throughout a 150 unit apartment.

Beta Field-Testing both technologies in a “real-world” test environment has already begun. Winegard believes that the benefits of these technologies, once testing is complete and production begins, will immediately be self evident and undeniable to property owners, installers, builders and homeowners in terms of time and money savings. Both will be on display, live, at CES 2006. These products will be available the first quarter of 2006.

If you’d like more information about this topic, or to schedule an interview with Bob Howell, please call Michael Sherman at 319-754-0604 or send an email to msher@winegard.com.

The Winegard Company is widely considered an innovator and pioneer in product design, performance and assembly and has consistently adapted to meet the challenges of the ever-changing electronics market. Cable television is sometimes used to refer to a system used to produce television services to clients. You will find numerous cable providers and each has numerous consumers all over the Nation and in numerous areas around the globe. Cable TV is different through satellite tv and regular television in the fact that it uses radio frequency signals to send data to a buyer’s television through optical or coaxial cords located near the house. There are equally pros and cons to getting cable tv service and individuals should carefully take into account the choices prior to making a choice.

One major selling point of cable tv is that you can  bundle services. Many cable television packages allow clients to receive phone, high speed internet access as well as television  for one low payment each month. This tends to end up protecting clients some money during the year. In addition, digital cable is usually ideal because it generally offers a somewhat more reliable signal than satellite providers. Satellite Television signals can often be interrupted if you have any neighbor that has tall trees in their yard or tall apartment buildings located near you. Cable HD TV signals are rarely interrupted since the connection is direct. So the likelihood of disturbance is rather small.

]]>

Another big advantage is that you do not have to buy as much gear with cable television as  with satellite tv. You would need to purchase expensive satellite dishes and TV receivers with satellite television, but you will only have to purchase cable boxes that connect the incoming cable line to your television with digital cable. It is possible to from time to time get these kinds of boxes cost-free with the cable company.

One of the major disadvantages of using cable tv is that it’s less accessible as satellite television. Satellite is available to virtually each home that has a unobstructed view of the southern sky.  That means it is usually available in even rural, remote regions.    In order to have access, there needs to be a network already installed. Even though this network is set up in most metropolitan, suburban as well as a number of sparsely populated regions, availability is not assured.

Nearly all providers allow you to form a cable bundle with broadband internet along with your cable tv. In many areas cable high speed internet is quicker than DSL. DSL Internet  generally performs at rates of speed which range from 144 Kbps to 1.5Mbps. That of course depends on the service and area. Cable Internet service commonly runs up to two times faster than DSL’s best internet speed of 1.5 Mbps.

However, one noticeable drawback to purchasing cable Internet plans is the installing process. DSL is quickly set up since virtually everyone has a telephone line near to their computer system, the spot that the connection runs as a result of.  On the additional hand, to have cable Internet, you should wait around on your cable Internet service to send an installer to your property to setup a new line. If the cable connection guy never shows to the house, you might be stuck with the difficult task of splicing the existing line alone.

If cable looks like it would suit you then have a look at Comcast cable in Pennsylvania for cable deals.

With all due respect to David Letterman, anyone can make a top 10 list.  In view of recent news headlines that state DTV is about to replace terrestrial broadcasting, here are ten good reasons why you should beat the FCC to the punch and order cable or satellite TV instead of DTV.

10. You’re tired of getting up and adjusting your antenna every few minutes and having your picture go fuzzy at critical moments of your favorite TV shows and sports events.

9. No more angry fights with your spouse—now the Digital Video Recorder can save your marriage.
How many arguments have you had because the VCR failed to tape the right show?  With digital video recording, you get exactly what you want to see and don’t have to worry about wrong channels, SP/EP, tape malfunction or any other 20th century problem.

8. Because you’re sick of terrestrial radio too.
When you order satellite or cable TV you also get free satellite radio channels to listen to.  Sure beats listening to non-stop radio commercials for five hours a day!

7. Because broadcast television has hit a new low.
Seriously, Burger King commercials?  Cheaters and Jerry Springer?  No wait, there’s still reruns of Everybody Loves Raymond.  Yeah, isn’t it about time you took a step up in the world?

6. Don’t you know?  Super fans don’t mess with television.
NFL Sunday Ticket with Super Fan brings you over 200 games a season along with multiple sports channels and high-tech features.  If you call yourself a football fan and still watch free digital TV, you’re a disgrace to the NFL.

5. Because you’re “high” on high definition.
You can’t get in trouble for being high on high-definition.  With HD TV you get superior resolution, greater detail, wider screens and more vibrant colors.  More importantly, you get better content—like movies, series and specials.  It’s like having hundreds of Blu-Ray discs at your disposal any moment of the day.

4. Foreign Television
Que?  Satellite and cable TV brings you more foreign television than you will ever see on DTV.  International news, new series and a whole new world perspective.

3. You’re tired of surfing the Internet for news and finding only commentary from 2005.
Broadcast television is not even worth mentioning, when it comes to covering the latest news in world affairs, national policies and local happenings.  The only other options are cable/satellite TV or the Internet.  The Internet may have a great deal of text content readily available, but it’s harder to find channels of news where an actual newscaster goes into depth over a breaking headline.  Satellite and cable TV give you many channels devoted only to 24-hour news and analysis.

2. Because WALL-E and The Dark Knight just aren’t worth dollars each.
Sure, they were both great movies—but do you really want to pay top dollar for DVDs and Blu-Rays when you could just as easily watch and record new PPV movies for .99?  Most new DVDs don’t even have that many special features anymore.

1. Because you don’t need the government’s money!
Be a real man or woman!  Tell the government they can keep their DTV coupon because you’re ready to ascend to premium TV and sure as heck don’t want to pay for broadcasting that should be free!

For the best in entertainment, go with Direct TV. There are Direct TV packages for everyone, from sports enthusiasts to movie buffs to parents looking for family-friendly programming.
