Believe Entertainment Group Partners With MommyCast As Popular Show For Moms Celebrates 100th Episode and ‘Birth’ of MommyCast Latina

Rex Post Provides Perfect Backdrop for TNT’s “Leverage” Episode “The Studio Job”

Portland, Oregon-based Rex Post got more than it bargained for – including an office décor makeover – when its post production client, cable television network TNT’s drama “Leverage,” chose Rex’s studios as a primary filming location for its upcoming episode, “The Studio Job,” airing Sun., July 18 (9 p.m./8 p.m. Central). Rex has served the show’s post-production audio needs since the series started shooting in Portland in its second season (2009).

When episode Director Jonathan Frakes (“Star Trek: The Next Generation”) read the script, which centers on the heist of audio masters from Memphis Country & Western music studio “Kirkwood Records” (John Schneider – Dukes of Hazard – stars as “Mitchell Kirkwood”), he automatically assumed that Rex would be the location of choice. Other local studios were scouted, but a combination of Rex’s plush recording studio look and its ability to handle the crew’s challenging logistics won the day. Rex’s General Manager/Chief Engineer Russ Gorsline and Business Manager Tara Krick were personally asked by Frakes to get directly into the action as extras, as a mixing assistant and a receptionist, respectively.

Rex also recorded two musical compositions featured on the show: one by principal cast member Christian Kane (Eliot Spencer) and one by guest star Alona Tal (Kaye Lynn Gold). The studio, which provides a wide-ranging suite of audio reco r ding and video production services for film/TV productions, corporate clients, advertising agencies and musical artists, utilizes ProTools HD (High-Definition) recording software, multi-dimensional 5.1 Surround Sound recording and Final Cut Pro video editing software.

Rex’s reputation working with production studios worldwide to provide ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement) – aka Looping – services helped it win over “Leverage” producers when the show moved to Portland. Rex also easily services clients outside of the region via ISDN digital land patch and SourceConnect, which allow it to seamlessly connect to any other similarly equipped studio in the world for recording and review.

The show is part of a growing trend in productions evaluating the cost benefits of moving out of traditional settings such as Los Angeles to find new regions that provide viable locations and ancillary services.
