HDcctv Alliance Announces Analog Devices, Cop UK, Pacific Corp, UFINE, and Win4Net Join Global Security Consortium

Sydney, Australia (PRWEB) March 15, 2010

HDcctv Alliance®, the global security industry consortium established to manage and promote technical standards for HDcctv™ equipment interoperability, announced today that five new members – Analog Devices, Cop UK, Pacific Corporation, UFINE and Win4Net – have joined the Alliance. The Alliance is quickly growing its international membership with registration available at http://www.highdefcctv.org or at their Booth #42001, at ISC West, Las Vegas, March 24-26, where many HDcctv Alliance members will be demonstrating their products.

HDcctv-based systems transmit HDTV signals digitally over conventional CCTV media without packetization and without any perceivable compression latency. The HDcctv Alliance has partnered with SMPTE to reference the family of broadcast video interfaces known as HD-SDI to create a derivative standard to enable plug-and-play security systems and equipment that deliver high-resolution, high-definition (HD) surveillance video with no transmission delays, no image artifacts from transmission, with the highest possible signal integrity.

With new members joining from Japan, Korea, England, and the USA, the Alliance is expanding their already significant international presence and diverse array of security products, from component, OEM and branded equipment manufacturers to security sales, support and system installers.

New Alliance member Analog Devices, Inc (NYSE: ADI) is a multinational semiconductor company, headquartered in Norwood, Massachusetts, with design and manufacturing facilities throughout the world, specializing in data conversion and signal conditioning technology.

“Analog Devices is constantly evaluating emerging technologies such as HDcctv to determine alignment to our signal processing product capabilities. We are excited to join the Alliance as an actively contributing member and look forward to continuing the process of positioning our existing and potential new product developments for adoption within the burgeoning HDcctv application space,” said Michael Long, Analog Devices’ security segment manager.

Cop UK, based in North England, with offices in Taiwan, China, Scandinavia and the USA, have supplied and supported more than 2,000,000 products to the security industry in the UK with installations ranging from single-owner/manager companies to large corporations with national installation bases, with an annual turnover in the UK in excess of 10,000,000 USD.

“Cop UK believes the HDcctv Alliance represents a major step forward in meeting the ever-increasing demand for higher-quality, higher-resolution CCTV for our customer base that network camera solutions cannot fulfill,” said Chris Bentley, CEO Cop UK. “Many of our customers have no networking background and consider network cameras as belonging to the ‘big installers club’: too expensive and complicated to install. HDcctv is the logical way forward for small installations that represents a large proportion of the total UK CCTV installation base and fits our customer base perfectly.”

“HDcctv ideally suits our customers’ requirements for quality and ease of installation, at an affordable price point. Our plan is to be selling Cop UK HDcctv products in the UK by the end of 2010 that will include our own brand cameras and embedded DVRs currently under development. We will also be launching a small range of ancillary items like repeaters to provide our customers with a one-stop solution for HDcctv,” Chris added.

Pacific Corporation is the first Japanese company to join the HDcctv Alliance and will demonstrate a 1080p30 auto-focus 18x-zoom camera built to meet HDcctv v1.0 specifications in their ISC West Booth #42003.

“By joining the HDcctv Alliance we gain the ability to collaborate with and share the resources of many companies that have the same goal of bringing the highest quality HD video to the main stream CCTV market,” said Isao Omata, director of sales, Pacific Corporation. “We can seamlessly work with HDcctv members and component manufacturers to ensure our products meet high performance standards and are interoperable, like our HDcctv zoom camera we will be demonstrating at ISC West which incorporates HDcctv Alliance member AltaSens’ wide dynamic range image sensor.”

Win4NET, Ltd, headquartered in Seoul, Korea, manufactures a diverse array of security products including DVR’s, HVR’s, NVR’s, network software solutions, video servers and auxiliary products that include speed dome cameras, storage boxes, housing and bracket, and system equipment. The Trium Security brand, established in 2007 as a separate business entity of Win4NET, Ltd., stands apart as an experienced, professional brand name in the North American security industry and will be exhibiting at ISC West in Booth #23097.

“Joining the HDcctv Alliance is in line with our goals to build a new business foundation based on new products that match the customer’s need, combined with extensive promotional campaigns and increased sales,” said Chris Wembridge, Win4NET Sales Manager. “HDcctv and Win4NET principles are consistent: that surveillance and physical security products should be reliable, cost effective, and readily integrated into new, or concurrently with, existing installations and procedures.”

UFINE Logics & Chips Co., Ltd., located in Gyeonggi-do, Korea, just released a single-chip image signal processor (ISP) optimized for high-resolution applications including HDcctv cameras. UFINE’s ISP chip includes HDcctv interface logic and can process 1080p30 images while implementing such functions as wide dynamic range (WDR), 3D DNR, 3A (AE, AWB, AF), OSD, motion detection, digital zooming and more. Unique functions can easily be added by firmware inside the microcontroller unit (MCU) embedded in the chip.

“We believe that joining the HDcctv Alliance provides a good opportunity for UFINE and our customers, who are CCTV camera manufacturers developing HDcctv cameras,” said Chang-Hyun, Nam, vice president, UFINE Logics & Chips Co., Ltd. “By implementing HDcctv features in the ISP, UFINE makes it easy for our customers to develop cost-effective HDcctv cameras. Together with our customer partners, we intend to contribute to HDcctv market expansion as an active member of HDcctv Alliance.”

Visit the HDcctv Alliance at ISC West, Las Vegas, Booth 42001, March 24-26 and attend the ISC West session panel entitled “High Definition Surveillance: A Clearer Picture” with Todd Rockoff, executive director, HDcctv Alliance, and moderated by Scott Goldfine, editor-in-chief, Security Sales & Integration Magazine, Wednesday, March 24, 2010, 4:00 p.m., in rooms AD04/CS04.

Visit HDcctv Alliance members’ booths at ISC West to fill out a raffle card and qualify to win one of 11 prizes including an HDcctv camera grand prize, two iPads, three valuable art pieces, and five blueCaps coax terminator kits.

Todd Rockoff will also represent the HDcctv Alliance in the panel discussion “Video Surveillance 2.0: HD Standards and Challenges” with PSIA and ONVIF at SecuTech, Taipei, Taiwan, April 22, 1:30 p.m.

Global TFT LCD Panels Market to Reach 4.6 Billion Units by 2015, According to New Report by Global Industry Analysts, Inc.

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) April 7, 2010

Thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT LCD) is a type of active-matrix LCD that utilizes the TFT technology for improving image quality. Globally, the TFT LCD supply chain and manufacturing facilities are primarily concentrated in China, Japan, Taiwan, and Korea. Japan and Pacific Rim regions comprise the most lucrative markets for flat panel display products. China is one of the leading markets for large area TFT LCD panels, especially in terms of volume. The demand is mainly driven by the robust electronics and IT industries of China.

In recent years, global economic downturn had its toll on the TFT LCD panels market, as sales of consumer electronic goods such as LCD TVs, computers and mobile phones, witnessed stagnation across all major regions. Demand is expected to pick up in future, as the economy recovers from recession and new markets emerge for digital TV as well as flat panel TV transition. The impending growth can be attributed to inventory refills and rush of client orders.

Emergence of new products, including DPF displays, e-book readers, and net books, is expected to act as the key growth driver for the sector as stated by the new market research report on TFT LCD Panels market. The usage of 16 x 9 inch panels is expected to increase in monitors and notebook PCs, primarily due to the growing demand for next-generation content formats such as high-definition (HD) movie playback, Blue Ray DVD, and games, in addition to the better economies of scale in the fabs.

Key players profiled in the report include AU Optronics Corp., BOE Technology Group Co., Ltd., Chunghwa Picture Tubes Ltd., Hitachi Displays, Ltd., LG Display Co., Ltd., NEC-LCD Technologies Ltd., Panasonic Corporation, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., Sharp Corporation, Sony Corporation, Toshiba Corporation, and Wintek Corporation, among others.

The report titled “TFT LCD Panels: A Global Market Report” announced by Global Industry Analysts, Inc., provides a comprehensive review of industry overview, product overview, product introductions/innovations, profiles of major players, and recent industry activity. The report analyzes market data and analytics in terms of volume shipments for the global market by the following product type and corresponding end-use segments – Large Area TFT LCD Panels (LCD Monitors, Laptop/Notebook PCs, LCD TVs, and Others), and Small & Medium TFT LCD Panels (Mobile Phones, Digital Still Cameras, Gaming Equipment, Portable Media Players, Sub Displays, Personal Digital Assistants, and Others).

Global Video Encoders Market to Cross US$ 1.0 Billion by 2015, According to New Report by Global Industry Analysts, Inc.

San Jose, California (PRWEB) July 13, 2010

Digitalization is a new buzzword of modern world, which may perhaps not be viable without the proliferation of video compression technologies. Advancements in video CODECs (compression and decompression) have been the key foundations for the delivery of digital video over multiple media applications (broadcast, cable, satellite, IPTV and others). Historically, video was stored as an analog signal on magnetic tape and over the time with latest technologies in place, compact disc entered the market as a digital-format replacement for analog audio and video. Currently, the ongoing digital trend is endorsing demand for the delivery of quality video at lowest possible bit rates over multiple media, and thus driving growth for video encoders.

While the demand for video encoders is expected to be driven by local digital mandates, a higher risk for postponement exists in many regions due to financial constraints of broadcasters for supporting capital expenditures. Despite continuously increasing product penetration, the market is being challenged by the freeze on capital expenditure and investment cutbacks resulting in intense competition and increased pricing pressure. However, digital mandates in Western Europe, China and other Asian regions are likely to boost growth in the market. North America leads the global video encoders market, as stated by the new market research report on video encoders

Although Cable TV remains to be the preferred pay-TV service globally, its revenues are expected to be affected by the economic recession and limited investments by cable operators on digital equipment. Demand for satellite encoders is also likely to be affected. On the contrary, IPTV represents the fastest growing end-use application segment for video encoders globally. IPTV services are also gaining considerable penetration in the Asian and European markets for offering subscribers with interactive services, capability of recording content on PVR devices, games, and VOD. The increasing demand for the services is likely to lead to adoption of sophisticated compression encoders offering superior bit savings.

HD and other advanced compression format upgrades remain to be the real growth drivers for the video encoders market. Penetration of HD unit is likely to exceed deployment of SD units by the year 2011, and thus vendors would be forced to supply low cost efficient products. With rise in demand by broadcasters for solutions with JPEG2000, AVC and other sophisticated compression formats, HD products remain a prospective avenue for investment.

Key players dominating the global video encoders market include ARRIS Group, Inc., Anystream, Ateme SA, Envivio, Inc., Harmonic Inc., Harris Corporation, International Datacasting Corporation, MainConcept AG, Motorola, Inc., Cisco Service Provider Video Technology Group, Ericsson Television Ltd., Telestream, Inc., and VBrick Systems, Inc., among others.

The report titled “Video Encoders: A Global Strategic Business Report” announced by Global Industry Analysts, Inc., provides a comprehensive review of industry overview, market trends, product overview, product introductions/innovations, profiles of major players, and recent industry activity. The report analyzes market data and analytics for the global video encoders market in terms of revenue for regions including North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Rest of World. End-use applications analyzed include Broadcast & Cable TV, Satellite TV, Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), and Enterprise & Private Networks.

Technology Advances in Home Theater Seating Are Impacting Global Society

Luxury home theater designed by Elite HTS.

Blaine, WA (PRWEB) September 21, 2010

The CEO of Elite Home Theater Seating, Mr. Bobby Bala, responded today to the Economic Current Report by Nielsen on the trends within global households on video consumption. The Nielsen report said, “New technology has kept the living room relevant and in-home television remains the most widely used video screen around the world.”

“We couldn’t agree more”, Mr. Bala said. “This has definitely been a factor in our phenomenal growth. Affordable technology has brought quality home entertainment into the reach of main stream consumers, and they are paying more attention to their living space and the value this adds to their homes and their lifestyles.”

“Many households now have a dedicated room for media and entertainment purposes”, Mr. Bala continued. “The launch of The Nate Berkus Show and other shows focusing on home improvements, renovations and additions highlights the new interest consumers have in enjoying their home.”

With the recent buzz around the release of their iPad Chair, Elite Home Theater Seating definitely has their finger on the pulse. “One of the interesting trends we see is that the home theater is becoming as important as the kitchen. Families are spending less money on entertainment outside the home, and more time inside the home with HD TVs, PVR, Digital TV, Wii, Xbox and PS3. People are willing to spend money that adds to their quality of life and to the value to their home.”

Professional research and planning is required to ensure the home theater both fits the home and suits the end user. Although the technological components are the main focus it is crucial that the layout is well laid out before any components or wiring is installed. Through the use of computer aided design Elite Home Theater Seating’s customer service team presents clients with a variety of layouts that take into account wall clearances, aisle depth, riser height and the placement of power outlets. The type of seating installed also plays an essential role in the enjoyment of a personal home theater.

For many years Elite Home Theater Seating has been known for high quality and reliable home theater seating. All of the chairs are custom-made to order, and every aspect of the construction can be tailored to the individual from the choice of fitted cup holders to the shape of the arms and feel of the cushioning. And Elite Home Theater seats are made to last. Each chair uses a German-made recliner motor, a sturdy steel frame, a base carved from a single piece of wood, and is backed up by a 10 year warranty. No other warranty in the home theater seating industry comes close.

Notes to Readers:

Elite Home Theater Seating produces only high-end, custom-made recliners and love seats. The company is based in Vancouver, Canada, but routinely ships chairs around the world.

Storage compartments and removable swivel trays are offered as options for all chairs in the Elite Home Theater Seating product line.

Elite Home Theater Seating has provided seating for the home theater showrooms of Harrods, London, and the Hollywood VIP theater of American High Definition, as well as many high quality brand name companies such as Bang and Olufsen and Signal Solutions.
