Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare Hotel & Conference Center Renovates Ballroom

Rosemont, IL (PRWEB) March 18, 2010

The Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare Hotel & Conference Center (http://www.CrownePlazaOhare.com), 5440 N. River Rd., has taken another step toward total transformation with the opening earlier this month of the remodeled O’Hare International Ballroom. In conjunction with the new ballroom opening, anyone who books an event at the hotel through June 30 will receive 10% off the total bill, according to Patty Connolly, Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare general manager.

The 23,500-square-foot ballroom – one of the largest column-free rooms in the O’Hare area – has new high-end décor with state-of-the-art LED chandeliers and finishes mirroring the property’s recently renovated guest rooms and suites. More than 4,000 square feet of pre-function space has been added adjacent to the ballroom for staging registrations, pre-meal receptions (capacity: 400), dessert buffets, small-scale trade shows and similar events.

For maximum sound coverage, both the ballroom and the pre-function space have been equipped with a new 60-speaker sound system. Throughout, a new Lutron lighting system creates energy efficient, digitally controlled ambiance.

“We’ve gotten lots of compliments on the décor, with its elegant yet approachable look. The room’s new raised ceiling height gives it an overall spacious appearance, yet there’s an intimate feel,” said Connolly.

She explained that event planners appreciate the fact that the ballroom can be divided into as many as five separate spaces. “For example, you can simultaneously conduct a general session in one room, a trade show in another, and still have up to three spaces available for break-out sessions.”

The combined ballroom space can accommodate receptions for up to 3,800, sit-down meals for up to 2,300 and theater-style seating for up to 3,000. When divided, each smaller room can handle around 30 6-foot trade show booths or classroom-style seating for about 250.

The Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare’s dedicated meeting managers oversee all event details with services that include a two-hour response to RFP guarantee and daily meetings debriefs.

With its prime location just 1.5 miles from O’Hare International Airport, across from the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, and adjacent to the Rosemont Theater, the hotel regularly hosts training sessions, conferences and trade shows in many industries, as well as religious gatherings, self-help seminars, dance competitions and, of course, weddings.

The hotel recently renovated all 503 guest rooms and suites, adding handcrafted custom furniture plus amenities including a refrigerator, in-room safe that accommodates a laptop computer, cordless telephone, 32-inch flat-screen HD television, wireless high-speed internet access and Roomlinx interactive entertainment solution.

A two-story fitness center with indoor swimming pool, several on-site dining options, indoor parking, and a free airport shuttle round out the property’s offerings.

“Whether it’s a trade show, full-scale convention, wedding or intimate social gathering, the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare with our newly remodeled guest rooms and ballroom, has the facilities, amenities and service to make it a success,” said Connolly.

Travelocity Awards Additional Star to Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare, Now A Four-Star Rated Property

Rosemont, IL, (PRWEB) December 17, 2010

The Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare Hotel & Conference Center (http://www.CrownePlazaOHare.com), 5440 N. River Rd., has received an additional ratings “star” from online travel agency Travelocity (http://www.Travelocity.com), and is now a four-star rated property.

Travelocity assigns its hotel star ratings – from one (lowest) to five (highest) — based on its own research, according to the company’s web site. Travelocity describes four-star rated hotels as superior properties “with a high level of service and hospitality as well as wide variety of amenities and upscale facilities. A well-integrated design, stylized room décor, excellent restaurant facilities, and landscaped grounds are all present. The comfort and convenience of the guest is the staff’s prevailing concern.”

“The additional star confirms that we’ve done things right over the last three years, as we completely transformed the hotel,” said David M. Friedman, president of CPO Hospitality and F&F Realty, which has owned and managed it since 2007. “Some of the major projects we executed included renovating and upgrading all 503 guest rooms and suites, remodeling the ballrooms and boardrooms, adding a business center, and improving the food and beverage options by offering better quality and more variety.”

Hotel highlights include:

Guest rooms and suites with handcrafted custom furniture, seven layers of comfort bedding, high-end fixtures and finishes, plus amenities including a refrigerator, in-room safe that accommodates a laptop computer, cordless telephone, 32-inch flat-screen HD television, wireless high-speed internet access and Roomlinx interactive entertainment solution.

Upscale casual dining restaurant The Chicago Fire Oven (http://www.chicagofireoven.com), one of the few independently owned restaurants among O’Hare area hotels. The name reflects the stone hearth oven that serves as its focal point, and which yields many of its signature menu items, including thin-crust pizzas, steaks, burgers, and house-roasted tomato-based pasta sauces.

The 23,500-square-foot O’Hare International Ballroom – one of the largest column-free rooms in the O’Hare area – and the newer, more intimate 2,200-square-foot Balmoral Ballroom.

Two 16-seat executive boardrooms, plus an 8-seat Boardroom Express – the latter rentable by the hour 24/7 for those seeking a professional, private setting for interviews, board meetings, depositions or similar activities.

A business center with five computer-outfitted workstations, a printer, scanner/copier and plenty of plush seating for laptop users.

With its prime location just 1.5 miles from O’Hare International Airport, across from the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, and adjacent to the Rosemont Theater, the hotel regularly hosts training sessions, conferences and trade shows in many industries, as well as religious gatherings, self-help seminars, dance competitions, and weddings.

The hotel offers a variety of packages and discounts, including special offers for government services employees (includes active and retired military), seniors, guests traveling with pets, and a Park, Stay and Fly package for travelers seeking parking, lodging and airport transportation in conjunction with round-trip flights out of O’Hare.
