Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) March 8, 2010

On Friday 5th March 2010, LazyTown superhero Sportacus (aka Magnus Scheving) joined Michelle Obama for the US Soccer Foundation & National Alliance for Hispanic Health youth soccer clinic, in Washington, D.C. In addition to this event, LazyTown will be teaming up with the US Soccer Foundation on a 25 date tour to Hispanic communities throughout the US, helping to get kids moving with appearances from Sportacus. These events are part of Michelle Obama’s newly formed Let’s Move campaign.

LazyTown superhero Sportacus was there to support the inaugural event, provide warm-up activities for the attending children, and to give out LazyTown SportsCandy (fruits and vegetables) and water, helping to promote health and fitness.

Ed Foster-Simeon, President of the US Soccer Foundation, said, “We are very happy to team up with LazyTown in our effort to get kids all over the country active and moving.”

“Getting kids moving is a key factor in tackling obesity and health problems among the young,” said Magnus Scheving, creator and CEO of LazyTown, who plays Sportacus in the hit children’s TV series. “For over 20 years we have been promoting health and fitness to young children through LazyTown activities, and I am delighted to join the US Soccer Foundation and the National Alliance for Hispanic Health in support of the First Lady’s Let’s Move campaign to tackle childhood obesity.”

“LazyTown is on a mission to move the world to be a healthier place. When we get kids moving, we get their families moving. And when families move, we are one step closer to moving the world. Move the body, move the mind, every day,” said Scheving.
