YES Launches Personalized Television Guide Widget for Websites and Desktops with WorkLight

YES, a leading television provider with over 570,000 subscribers, has launched MyYes – a personalized television guide widget, now made available on desktops, Facebook and personalized homepages such as iGoogle.

Powered by WorkLight, the multi-channel widget is integrated with Israel-based YES Satellite Services’ television programming systems and databases. Customers are able to predefine media content preferences by program, genre and keywords, track specific programs and recommend preferred television programs and movies to friends from a selection of over 130 video and HD channels.

Developed in a single effort using the WorkLight Solution (http://www.worklight.com), the MyYes Television Guide Widget is made available to customers on Windows and Mac desktops, Adobe AIR, Facebook, iGoogle and is part of the YES website.

Currently, widget users are prompted to take advantage of YesMax Online, a Digital Video Record (DVR) feature recently launched by YES. A second phase of the implementation will enable customers to use the widget to select specific programs for recording on their home DVR device.

HDcctv cameras are an alternative to CCTV cameras, which offer limited resolution. HDcctv cameras digitally deliver much higher resolution than CCTV cameras, at only a modest price premium, using conventional coaxial cable. HDcctv cameras are also a good alternative to IP video cameras, whose adoption has been impeded by issues of cost, complexity, and the degradation of live video due to its being compressed prior to transmission over IP networks (which also tend to drop packets, further degrading the video). The HDcctv standard enables cameras that deliver HDTV in video surveillance systems to easily interoperate with HDcctv DVRs, HDcctv IP streamers, HDcctv monitors, and other types of HDcctv products. HDcctv interfaces deliver the highest possible signal integrity, without any perceivable latency or image artifacts from transmission-related compression or IP network packet loss.

The HDcctv Alliance has partnered with SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers) to leverage the HD-SDI (High Definition Serial Digital Interface) broadcast television standard as the basis for the HDcctv Specification. The HDcctv standard is planned to include a variety of enhancements to HD-SDI that are vital to surveillance, including bi-directional audio and data, up-the-cable power, and Long Reach Mode for 300m transmission over conventional RG-59 cable.

The output screen of the future, IDTV revolutionizes AMOLED (Active-Matrix Organic Light-Emitting Diode) technology. The 3.4” digital myGOtv is a hand held personal “Pocket TV” that features advanced quality viewing while in motion.

AMOLED displays stack cathode, organic, and anode layers on top of another layer – or substrate – that contains circuitry. The pixels are formed via the deposition of organic material in an unbroken, separate “period” model. AMOLED pixels turn on and off more than three times faster than the speed of conventional motion picture film – making these displays ideal for fluid, full-motion video.

AMOLED technology reduces power consumption and is a key solution to environmental concerns on power usage. The display provide 1.5 times brighter images than conventional LCD displays (particularly under natural light), besides improved contrast ratio and readability. The wide viewing angle, coupled with faster response while moving, the long battery life, and absolutely low power consumption is generating remarkable interest amongst users of all ages.

The key features of this product include: An advanced closed caption digital and analog TV with high reception capability with free off-air DTV and NTSC RF channels (2~69), which is fully ATSC standard compliant.

The 3.4” Digital TV comes with a 480 x 272 digital RGB resolution on a 3.4” 16:9 AMOLED display screen, and includes mpeg2/ATSC 18 output video format. The audio format comes with Dolby digital, multi lingual output and the reception of signals is via an embedded monopole antenna. The AV output is via headphone or in-built speakers. The product comes with an in-built rechargeable li-poly battery and provides a playback time of over two-and-half hours. A DC jack connector (9~24VDC) and an AC adapter & car charger is included in the package.

Additionally, an on-screen program information display with title menus in English and Spanish, providing the user the option to edit and hop channels, besides a direct channel changing (DRF) capacity and a display of real-time signal strength together with an auto channel scan and time zone setting, are a part of the other features. The product also has a modern and stylish design with trendy on-screen menus and is easy-to-use, providing smart power management.

The broadcast can be seen almost anywhere and that too for free. The product is targeted for use outdoors, at events or games, in emergency situations, student dorms, as well as in-home.
